This small house in the woods is a garden folly located in the grounds of Herstmonceux Castle in East Sussex, England. Although it is only a decorative structure, it was built in 1935 in the Queen Anne style, featuring time-stained brickwork, tall classical windows and a distinctive grey slate roof. Set against a backdrop of a tranquil lake and rows of old trees, the house has a nostalgic, secluded and poetic beauty – like a corner of England from the last century left in the middle of nature.
